Earthquake Response: Supporting the Most Vulnerable

In the wake of the September earthquake, ATF delivered direct cash assistance to affected families.
A targeted response restoring dignity and meeting urgent needs on the ground.

In response to the devastating September 8 earthquake in Morocco, the Abdelhadi Tazi Foundation implemented a cash-based emergency relief program funded by The Prem Rawat Foundation (TPRF).

The intervention provided monthly direct cash assistance to 77 vulnerable households across affected rural communities in the High Atlas region, prioritizing families with:

  • Children and elderly dependents

  • Women-headed households

  • Persons with disabilities

  • Families who lost livelihoods due to the earthquake

94% of all funds were delivered directly to beneficiaries, ensuring maximum impact at household level.

Families used the assistance primarily for:

  • Food and essential nutrition

  • Medical care and chronic treatment

  • Emergency housing needs

  • Basic utilities and transportation

Despite severe disruptions—including destroyed homes, loss of livestock, and collapsed local economies—the program demonstrated the effectiveness of cash-based humanitarian aid in restoring dignity, autonomy, and resilience.
